Furnace manager

Education  B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, Industrial or a closely related engineering discipline.  Additional certification/exposure in heat treatment, metallurgy, industrial safety, TPM or energy management will be advantageous. Experience  Typically 10-15 years of relevant manufacturing experience, including substantial hands-on responsibility for industrial furnace / heat-treatment operations and at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial leadership role.  Direct exposure to spheroidizing annealing, roller-hearth / continuous furnace, controlled-atmosphere heat treatment, seamless tube, bearing steel, alloy steel or comparable metallurgical processes is strongly preferred.  Demonstrated experience in furnace production planning, temperature and atmosphere control, heat-treatment quality, maintenance coordination, safety and shift-team management.  Experience in a multi-shift manufacturing plant with measurable ownership of throughput, quality, cost and equipment reliability is essential. Technical & Behavioural Competencies  Strong understanding of furnace process parameters, temperature profiling, protective atmosphere, heat-treatment defects and process troubleshooting.  Ability to read operating trends and convert data into rapid shop-floor action; disciplined use of SOPs, logs, check sheets and traceability.  Hands-on leadership style with high shop-floor presence, problem-solving attitude, firmness on safety and quality, and strong cross-functional coordination.  Good written and verbal communication in English and Hindi; Bengali will be an advantage for Haldia operations.  Willingness to work in a plant environment, support multi-shift operations and respond to urgent furnace/process situations when required
