We partner with leading global networks and are actively expanding across Europe and Southeast Asia. \n zenda is backed by leading VCs including the $1.5bn Saudi Technology Venture and Global Founders Capital, and is seamlessly integrated with 70+ local, regional, and global SIS and ERP systems. \n \n The Role \n We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Automation Engineer / Senior SDET to build scalable automation solutions and drive quality engineering practices across enterprise applications and modern distributed systems. \n This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, engineering excellence, developer productivity, and modern testing practices in fast-paced Agile environments. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, product, and platform teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through automation-first and AI-assisted quality engineering approaches. \n We are a small, high-ownership engineering team. What you build here will directly shape the reliability and velocity of zenda's platform as we scale across new markets. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n \n Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks across web, mobile, APIs, and microservices \n Drive automation coverage across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing \n Test APIs, microservices, and distributed/event-driven systems, including contract and integration validation \n Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot pipeline failures \n Support performance, load, and reliability testing for enterprise applications \n Leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve test effectiveness and reduce manual effort \n Contribute to engineering best practices and mentor junior automation engineers \n \n \n Requirements \n \n 4+ years of experience in Test Automation, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering, with strong hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks \n Strong programming skills in Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages \n Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or equivalent \n Strong understanding of API testing, microservices, distributed systems, and modern application architectures \n Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, messaging systems, and asynchronous workflows \n Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools \n Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments \n Familiarity with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Redis, and relational/non-relational databases \n Experience with performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling \n Understanding of observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry \n Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills; excellent communication and collaboration skills \n \n \n What Makes Someone Successful Here \n \n A framework builder, not just a test writer: you design automation that scales with the platform, not brittle scripts that break every release. \n Systems-minded: you understand distributed systems, async workflows, and how services interact — and you test accordingly, not just at the UI layer. \n DevOps-fluent: you're comfortable inside CI/CD pipelines, and you troubleshoot pipeline failures as readily as test failures. \n Curious about AI-assisted QE: you actively look for ways automation and intelligent tooling can reduce manual effort and sharpen test effectiveness. \n A force multiplier: you mentor junior engineers, raise the bar on coding standards, and push an automation-first culture across the team — not just your own backlog. \n \n \n What We Offer \n \n Ownership of quality engineering practices across a fast-scaling fintech platform, with direct exposure to engineering, DevOps, and product leadership \n Room to grow with the business as it scales across new markets \n Experience with Playwright-based enterprise frameworks, Pact/WireMock, Testcontainers, GenAI-based testing workflows, AWS/Azure, SRE exposure, or cross-device testing via BrowserStack/Sauce Labs is preferred. \n Location : Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
